Ghosts and ghouls and gunpowder

'Twas All Hallows Eve on Friday, and the streets were filled with evil spirits searching to steal the souls of the living - or failing that, all manner of sweets, fruit, and nuts. Calum dressed as a vampire and Lachlan went "old school" as a ghost in a sheet.

On Sunday, Stonehaven held its annual bonfire and fireworks display. Once again, I had made the Guy's head for the Beavers, but we were a tiny bit late and missed his moment of glory.

The fireworks were really good; they had music this year which was a nice addition - the boys loved hearing the Star Wars and Indiana Jones themes especially. Magnus enjoyed it all from the vantage point of the carrier on my back. He was an absolute star and didn't get at all upset, although he did look confused at times.

Excellent costumes! Glad Magnus was okay at the fireworks. Alasdair didn't enjoy them much at the Renaissance Festival...

Notice you switched back to old comment stylee too. Glad it wasn't just me.

No switching back; this blob is not for turning - I never adopted the new style comments in the first place. I think I preferred them but never got round to it, especially when you seemed to get some negative remarks on your blog.

You gotta love the safety conscious vampire with reflective stripes...although wouldn't that blow his element of surprise?
As always the "Oooh! Aah!" photos of fireworks displays are the best.
Glad you had fun guys.
Have to say it was far too quiet round here last night....maybe I missed it being up north...again!

Weird. Well, I couldn't add comments to your blog the other day, so maybe it was user error on my part.

I wanted to go to a fireworks display here in Chepstow, but Alasdair really doesn't like them.  That and people clapping also freaks him out.  We obviously need to de-sensitise him!!

Alasdair is clearly destined to be a Dons fan - he wouldn't be bothered by much cheering or clapping at Pittodrie.
