Water Way To Go....

No pictures sadly, but last night was the annual Beaver's end of term water fight at which everyone got well and truly soaked. As ever, it was great fun but sadly it was Emma's last night in charge after being involved for about 10 years. A collection had been made for a wee gift and flowers, and we got all the boys (including some of the Scouts who were there who had been Beavers) to raise a great big cheer. It was hard to tell with all the water everywhere, but I think she shed a tear or two.

So, pending official appointment, I'm the leader. Worried? You should be. I am!

Ghosts and ghouls and gunpowder

'Twas All Hallows Eve on Friday, and the streets were filled with evil spirits searching to steal the souls of the living - or failing that, all manner of sweets, fruit, and nuts. Calum dressed as a vampire and Lachlan went "old school" as a ghost in a sheet.

On Sunday, Stonehaven held its annual bonfire and fireworks display. Once again, I had made the Guy's head for the Beavers, but we were a tiny bit late and missed his moment of glory.

The fireworks were really good; they had music this year which was a nice addition - the boys loved hearing the Star Wars and Indiana Jones themes especially. Magnus enjoyed it all from the vantage point of the carrier on my back. He was an absolute star and didn't get at all upset, although he did look confused at times.

Burn, baby, burn.

Last night at the Beavers, we had the annual paper fight (made even more unruly because it was bring a friend night) and Guy stuffing event, before handing over the guy to the Round Table who organise the bonfire and fireworks. Next time I see my handywork it'll be sitting on top of a pile of flammable stuff and then it'll be gone. Probably some sort of metaphor for life in general, if you think about it, which I haven't.
