Our So Called Advent Blob - Day 6

The holiday season continues apace with the Arduthie School Christmas Fair this morning. It was the usual bunch of stalls and games; the boys had a good time with the Lucky Dip, the chocolate tombola (they both won something), bowling, pinball, and a chat with Santa Claus. Lachlan managed to win a pair of earrings in a raffle he didn't even enter. Anway, enough of the real world - let's see what's going on in the world of Lego...

Wet Wet Wet

The annual Arduthie School treasure hunt was last night so I spent much of the day looking out of the window wondering whether we were going to get sun or showers in the evening. As luck would have it, the heaviest shower of the day lasted for pretty much the length of time we were out and about, trying to answer the clues on soggy pieces of paper. A lot of people braved the weather - it was quite funny to see the long column of umbrellas winding its way round the streets. I wish I'd taken some photos of all the soggy people, but I was too busy trying to hide inside my jacket. Thankfully, the school dinner hall was open, so we were able to get inside and dry out a bit and enjoy our beer and burgers at the end. Well done to the PTA who organised it all - fingers crossed for better weather next year.

1st Class!

This is Calum's first school photo. The local paper always prints pictures of the new Primary 1s from all the different schools in the area. Can you spot the future high fliers in this lot?

Skool Daze

Yesterday was a big day for the boys - the start of a new school term, Lachlan's first day in P4, and Calum's first day at school. They both looked very smart in their uniforms - the simple act of wearing a polo shirt and a decent pair of trousers has made Calum look a lot more grown up, I think. He seems to be settling in well so far - hopefully that'll continue.

Give him the sack!

Lachlan's school sports were supposed to be last week but the weather was terrible. Fortunately the rain stayed off long enough for it to take place today. Lachlan managed to get 2nd in the relay and his team came 2nd overall, so he was quite pleased. The main thing is that he said he enjoyed himself and didn't come last in anything!

Sports Day

Today was sports day at Calum's nursery. Strictly non-competitive of course, but they appeared to have great fun, running through things, ...

...getting up close with girls, ...

...wanging wellies, ...

..., and getting a medal and a big hug from his Nannie.
